What is East Tennessee Eye Surgeons NextMD Patient Portal?

The Patient Portal is a secure, confidential and easy to use website that gives patients 24 hour access to their medical records. It uses the latest encryption technology to deliver secure communication between patients and providers. The Patient Portal is administered and maintained by NextGen Healthcare Information Systems, LLC (“NextGen”) on behalf of East Tennessee Eye Surgeons.

How is Patient Portal secure?

Your security is important to us. We are committed to protecting your privacy. Your name and email address will be treated with the same care and privacy given to your health records and will never be sold or leased by East Tennessee Eye Surgeons or NextGen. We use techniques to encrypt, safeguard, and secure your personal information. Is there a fee to use Patient Portal?

No. The Patient Portal is provided as a courtesy to our patients and its use is optional. East Tennessee Eye Surgeons is focused on providing the highest level of service and health care.

How do I enroll in the Patient Portal?

You will be given a form to sign at check in if you would like to participate in the Patient Portal. Should you choose to participate, our office staff will enroll you in the Patient Portal. You will be given your own unique username, password and security answer at check out. An invitation email will be sent to you at the e-mail address you provided on your demographics form. If you have a filter for “junk” mail, please monitor your junk folder for Westchester Health emails. This will supply a link to the Patient Portal login screen. There will be a box on the left hand side of the screen that asks, “Already a Member?” This is where you will enter your username and password given to you from our office and click “Log In.” You will be taken to another screen that will ask you to answer your security question. This, too, is located on your label underneath your password. Please keep your Patient Portal form in a secure location in case you need to access your username, password and security answer for future visits to the portal.

What if I can’t remember my Username and/or Password?

If you can’t remember your username and/or password, select the following from the Patient Portal login screen on the left hand side under the Username and Password section:

I forgot my username.
Select this option if you do not know your username. Enter your information in the appropriate fields so your account can be located and click submit. Upon submission, an email will be sent containing your username. Enter this username in the appropriate field on the NextMD login screen with your known password and security answer.

I forgot my password.
Select this option if you do not know your password. Enter your username and click submit. Upon submission, an email will be sent containing a link to reset your password. Click on the link and follow the onscreen instructions.

I do not remember any of my login credentials.
Select this option if you do not know your username and password. Enter your information in the appropriate fields so your account can be located. Upon submission, an email will be sent to you with a link to reset your username and password. Click on the link and follow the onscreen instructions.
